About Me
My name is Samantha Maliphant and I have been working as a massage therapist and reflexologist since 2008.
I chose to retrain in Holistic Therapy in 2007 when my husband and I discovered we were expecting our first child, I wanted to have a career that I was in charge of so I could fit my time around my daughter and one that also helped people in the way that I had been helped.
I suffer from a spinal condition that was very painful during my teenage years and I was advised my surgical consultants that my options were surgery or medication for life, I began looking at other ways that I could influence my condition and maybe improve it, so in 2005 I had my first session of reflexology and I immediately felt the benefits, I have been having regular treatments ever since which has improved my condition so much that I now take no medication at all, not even Paracetamol! I also credit reflexology with helping to aid me through my pregnancy as this was feared to be a difficult time for my spine and in the words of my ante natal consultant "Whatever it is you are doing to help your back, keep doing it!" So I have the utmost faith in what I do!I have since had 2 more children and having regular treatments helped me through each of their pregnancies as well. |
In 2008 I went back to college to begin my training. I now hold a VTCT Professional Diploma in Swedish Full Body Massage, VTCT Professional Diploma in Reflexology, and a Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards. In 2010 i completed a Diploma in Manicures and Pedicures. In 2013 I trained to do Indian Head massage, which has fitted in very well to the treatments that I already offer. I am currently working towards a qualification in aromatherapy to add another level of healing to my treatments. I am always looking to expand my knowledge of the therapies that I already offer as well as learning new ones to help my clients to the best of my abilities. |
